I had my first lessons in the Alexander Technique in 1992 while I was working as a professional modern dancer. I had been performing for six years and was aware that I was at risk of burnout and injury, I also felt the need to broaden my range of movement. When I realised that all the dancers I most admired had at some stage studied the technique I started having a weekly lesson. These lessons were a revelation a wonderful process of discovery that transformed my dancing and had a huge impact on my everyday life so much so that I was inspired to study for 3 years to qualify as a teacher. I now teach the technique full-time in Greenwich, Kentish Town and the City. I work with people from all walks of life from accountants and film editors to journalists and lawyers and with a range of performers including musicians, actors and dancers. I also teach workshops and give talks on the technique.
